Introduction Boudoir & Studiolo

8 years ago I moved into to my present apartment, 45 square meters, the smallest I've ever lived in. At the time I worked six days a week, leaving very early in the morning, coming home late at night. I didn't really live here like in a real home.  So I decided to do the interior as a small, comfortable hotel suite and not as a regular home with a sitting room, dining area and a bedroom. I had a large bedroom, a walk-in closet annex dressing room and an extra room for all the stuff that didn't fit the hotel concept. Over the years my lifestyle changed gradually, and the appartment changed too. Two years ago it was completely redone. It still is a small, cool appartment. However small it may be, I am still in the process of finishing the interior decorating. People moving into palaces finish their interior project sooner than me. It started with two different concepts I really liked for my place. One being the female boudoir/bedroom and the other being the studiolo, a more masculin style room like a traditional study/library. At first I wanted to make a choice for one of the two concepts. And, I just couldn't. One day I was sure it had to be the female boudoir that would make my apartment the perfect home for me. The other day I switched completely to the concept of the masculine study, or library. So I started collecting ideas and images for both style rooms. And over time the idea of the perfect hybrid room evolved, the perfect mix of a study/library  and a boudoir/bedroom. I collect ideas and pictures that I like to share on my weblog Boudoir & Studiolo. The picture below shows my ultimate dreamhouse. An endless wall filled with books and a comfortable bath. I imagine that the other end of the room has an enormous bed (2x2 meter), and somewhere in the middle of the room are two comfortable reading chairs with a table between them with piles of books.
